All of the gifts that were under the Christmas tree will, at some point in time, break or wear out. The gifts are all temporal.

 

We celebrate Christ’s birth and the gift of His Life, Death and Resurrection during this CHRISTmas season. There are those who spend hours to find the perfect gift to meet a loved one’s want or desire in a loved one’s life.

 

Christmas is a time of giving … however, it is also a time of receiving all of God’s love in his gift of Jesus Christ.

 

There’s only one perfect gift to receive at Christmas. The gift of the assurance of eternal life is the greatest gift to receive God’s Love.

 

Christmas is a great time to point people to the perfect gift. This gift is given by God through His Son, Jesus Christ, for the redemption of all mankind to make us righteous so that we have relationship and we can stand with and before God.

 

This gift is to be received. It is totally available all year long – 24/7. However, during the Christmas season, hearts and minds are often softened with the message of CHRISTmas.

 

Many times it is through the problems, the circumstances and the difficulties of life in which people fall to their knees to ask AND receive the CHRISTmas gift – the Christmas gift – of the forgiveness of sin through sincere repentance of their sin knowing that they need a Savior.

 

Jesus Christ is standing and knocking at the door to your heart. The door should be opened by you to receive the perfect gift. The gift must be received. You have to unwrap the gift of righteousness, peace, joy, freedom from sin, forgiveness from sin and the assurance of salvation.

 

If you will seek Him, you will find Him – when you seek Him with all of your heart.

 

What does it mean to be born again? Is this kind of emotional experience? No! The Bible teaches us that being born again means your life is changed.

 

In 2 Corinthians 5:17 we read:

 

“Therefore, if any man is in Christ,

he is a new creature.

Old things are passed away.

Behold, all things have become new.”

 

The Bible also tells us what changes will take place in your life when you are born again. Your desire for God’s Word increases. Your desire to seek righteousness increases. Your desire to love and forgive others will increase. Your desire for temporal will decrease and the desire for eternal will increase.

 

God has known you from the beginning of creation. You are wonderfully made. He knows the hairs on your head. He knows everything about you. He knows your birth date. He knows your born again birth date.

 

You were created by God as an eternal being. Sin and death came into the world through Adam and Eve. Jesus, the eternal CHRISTmas gift, came to redeem man from death and sin. Jesus overcame death. He lives in you through the ask and receiving of the power of His Holy Spirit.

 

Your assurance of eternal life rests in the promise of God through Jesus Christ’s birth, death, and resurrection. Your redeemed changed life is the evidence of the working out of your salvation.
