Kingdom Living with Wisdom

Kingdom Living with Wisdom

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness. James 3:13-18

Man’s wisdom is filled with envy and selfish ambition which leads to disorder and every evil practice. You cannot serve two masters; you will hate the one and love the other. You cannot serve both your selfish needs and God. You cannot serve envy and God. You cannot serve your lustful passions and God. When you suppress the sin of envy and selfish ambition God’s grace is not released into your life. Your thinking becomes distorted. Your rationalizing the sinful actions or lack of action in your mind by making rational excuses escalates into more wickedness and rebellion toward God.

God’s wisdom is first of all pure. God’s wisdom and knowledge is filled with LOVE. God’s grace enters in through the state of brokenness before Holy God through confession and repentance. If there is envy or selfish ambition, HIS Grace will not abound. Holy God washes away all the stains of sin and purifies you. The wisdom from heaven then is peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

If God offered you anything you wanted would you respond like Solomon?  Solomon asked for God’s wisdom and understanding to better serve others.

11 God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, riches or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king,

12 therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, riches and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.” 2 Chronicles 1:11-12

Seek today to walk in the wisdom of God which is first of all pure, then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

Sow the peace of God in your life and you will reap the harvest of righteousness.
