Are you spending your energy trying to prove your worth to others?
Where are you getting your confidence and security?
Are you confident in the world’s system or are you confident in God’s Kingdom?
Where are you getting your security from – the world’s system or God’s Kingdom?
Your security and confidence comes in knowing your identity. Who are you? Who is your FATHER?
Which is more important – how you are seen by others, parents, friends and business associates or by God?
How does God see you?
You have been called out of darkness into light. You have received mercy through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. God has chosen you to be part of HIS family. God sees you as Holy. God sees you as belonging to HIM.
Here is your new identity.
9 You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 1:9-11
You are a priest. You have direct access to the creator of the universe Holy Almighty God. You are part of the Spiritual Nation of God which is Holy. Your holiness comes by the work of Christ Jesus on the cross for the forgiveness of your sin. You are made righteous. Your sins of the past, present and future are forgiven by Christ’s sacrifice for all mankind. You belong to God. You are a child of the King.
If you have ever felt unwanted, you need to know God wanted you and chose you to be part of HIS family. As parents choose to adopt a child, God has chosen you to be part of HIS Kingdom of God. He accomplished this in the sacrificial works of Jesus Christ who redeemed your sin on the cross.
The world’s system can give temporal confidence and security. God’s Kingdom gives you eternal confidence and security. Which will you choose?
