Kingdom Living is Restoration

Kingdom Living is Restoration —– That which is lost

Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, “See, Lord, I am [now] giving half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone out of anything, I will give back four times as much.” Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this household, because he, too, is a [spiritual] son of Abraham; 10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:8-10 AMP

So, what was lost?

What was lost in Zaccheus’ life?

Zaccheus represents a transformed life in Jesus. Zaccheus was restored into relationship with God. Zaccheus was made in the image of God yet his way of doing business was selfish for his own gain. Because of the presence of Jesus in Zaccheus’ home, we witness the following:

□ The transformation of God’s love image being restored into Zaccheus’ life.

□ Life came into Zaccheus.

□ Love entered Zaccheus’ life.

□ Zaccheus’ identity which was lost was restored.

Zaccheus knew there was something better than wealth and selfish desire. He was seeking that which was lost at the fall of man in Adam. He found that which was lost in Jesus. Zaccheus’ identity was restored. HIS original identity was stolen at the fall and now Zaccheus was full of God’s love with HIS IMAGE and LIKENESS living in him.

The word lost in Greek is apollumi which means destroy, lose, am perishing.

What was lost at the fall was our identity and relationship with God. We lost our image and likeness of love. We became focused on self. We lost our sonship and daughtership with the Father. We lost our authority and dominion.

God, as a loving father, restored mankind back to HIS IMAGE and LIKENESS through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. For those who believe and receive and desire to know God, HEAVEN has come into their lives through the Holy Spirit living in them. Like Zaccheus, what was lost in our identity has been redeemed, restored and made new in Christ Jesus. We are New Creations in Christ Jesus.

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21AMP
