Kingdom Living in Obedience

Kingdom Living in Obedience

Saul was removed from his Kingship because he did not fully obey the word of the Lord. He partially obeyed. He won the battle and conquered Amalek but lost his Kingship because of disobedience to God. In Saul’s eyes he was victorious in battle thus was erecting a monument in his own honor. Saul and his army of men won the battle but did not follow all the instructions to destroy everything in Amalek . Saul and his army spared the King of Amalek along with the best of sheep and cattle. Their disobedient rationalization was to offer the sheep and cattle as a sacrifice to God.

When you are victorious do you erect a monument to your glory?

Are you completely following the instructions of God’s word?

Are you making sacrifices to God when HE wants your complete obedience?

22Samuel said, Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

23For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim (household good luck images). Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king. 1 Samuel 15:22-23 AMPC

Samuel confronted Saul with the truth of God’s word. God does not delight in sacrifice. HE wants obedience to the voice of the Lord. God rejects the arrogant and disobedient. There are consequences for partial obedience. Partial obedience is disobedience. Saul was removed from his position of King.

Saul told Samuel the reason for his disobedience: he was afraid of the people so he gave into them. Which do you fear: God or people? Saul was more afraid of the people and suffered the consequences. Saul was to have the blood line of Jesus through his family. Because Saul sought the people’s recognition more than God’s, he lost the legacy of the Lord Jesus Christ coming through his bloodline.

Are you offering sacrifices to God or full obedience to his word? Do you fear people or the Lord? What do you fear? Do you fear the consequences of disobedience to the Lord? The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom which leads to obedience. Obedience to God’s word leads to God’s blessings.

You are washed by HIS Blood and are clean because of Jesus Christ obedience on the cross. Receive and be filled with HIS HOLY SPIRIT. Walk today in the authority and power of the Spirit of God living in you through HIS word.
