What Death Has Done, Christ Has Undone.
Christ reverses what entered humanity through the fall.
Christ reverses through one man’s sin that entered the world and through sin death entered.
Through the one man, Jesus Christ, Grace entered the world and through Grace, Righteousness and Life entered.
Paul describes the ultimate reversal – for since by one man death came but by man also came the resurrection of the dead.
So we see by Adam, death came in through this one man Adam – death.
And then through Christ, Resurrection Life came and we have Resurrection Life through Christ.
Now Romans 5:17 describes another reversal – for if one man Adam’s offense, death reigned through the one versus much more those who receive abundance of Grace and of the Gift of Righteous will reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
Sin entered in. Death entered. Condemnation came. Guilt reigned. Separation came. Bondage reigned. The grave came. Hopelessness reigned.
But look at this: Through the Gift of Righteousness of the Reign of Life, Grace entered in. Life entered. Justification came, Righteousness reigns. Resurrection came, hope reigns.
What Adam brought in, Christ took out.
What Adam lost, Christ restored. And more.
Amen and Amen.
