Raised and Seated with Christ
Oh, this is an exciting verse here.
This is Ephesians 2:6. “And God raised us up with Christ” – and seated us where? “With him in the heavenly places.”
You’re not trying to get to heaven. In Christ, you’re already there.
This is your position, your identity, and your inheritance.
So, what does this verse reveal?
We’re raised up because Jesus’s resurrection. You were raised from spiritual death to new life.
You’re seated. You’re seated with us. Not standing, not struggling. Seated.
You have position, authority, and acceptance. You’re with him. You’re in union with Christ, not alone.
His life is your life in the heavenly places. Your citizenship is in heaven now.
You live from a higher realm, not just this world.
And some of the scriptures that help here is Colossians 2:12 “We’re buried with him in baptism in which you were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God. “
And in Colossians 3:1, “Set your mind on things above where Christ is seated at the right hand and you’re seated with Him and abide in Him. Abide in Me and I in you – as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine.
In Philippians 3 20, “Our citizenship is in heaven from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”
So the reality in Christ is you, I love this, you’re alive. You’re seated. You’re loved. You’re secure. You’re heavenly minded.
We’re dead to sin. We’re raised with Christ. We’re seated in glory. We’re living in victory.
It’s not by effort. It’s by grace. This is your new life in Christ.
Amen and amen
