Kingdom Living without Anxious toil.
Jesus is telling us not to be anxious and worried. How has worrying helped you? How has worrying added quality to your emotional and physical life? We are designed in God’s image of righteousness, peace, and joy through God’s everlasting love in the Holy Spirit. This is the way we are to grow.
Our design system broke when sin was introduced through Adam. Growth instead became toil through man’s effort, hard work and worry.
Jesus is telling us to thoroughly learn about the growth of the lily in Matthew 6: 25-28.
25 Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?
27 And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life?
28 And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin.
Lilies are flowers that grow from bulbs. The bulbs contain the nutrients necessary for the flower to grow. Lily bulbs are either producing a flower or storing up nutrients to produce a flower for the next summer.
Man is designed with the nutrients of God. The Word of God living in you through the Holy Spirit is the bulb which contains the nutrients necessary for your mind to be renewed so as to align with the Spirit of God.
You are designed for health not sickness, power not weakness, love not fear, sound mind not worry, eternal not temporal, Worship of God the Creator not worship of the created.
The antidote to anxiety is God’s perfect love, righteousness, peace and joy manifested to you through Jesus. HIS redeeming love overcomes all worry, toil and anxiety. Jesus’ blood shed on the cross is God’s demonstration of your FATHER’S LOVE for you. HE has promised to protect you and provide for you.
Jesus said to come to HIM all who are anxious, burdened, laboring and emotionally damaged. I will give you rest and a peace which transcends all understanding in the midst of your toil. Come enter HIS presence now.
