Kingdom Living is Revealing the Rock
Kingdom Living is Revealing the Rock
Simon Peter replied, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Then Jesus answered him, Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are you, Simon Bar-Jonah.
For flesh and blood [men] have not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven.
And I tell you, you are Peter [Greek, Petros–a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra—a huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the infernal region) shall not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it]. Matthew 16:16-18 AMP
So, what is this rock?
This rock is not Peter because the Church is not built on the foundation of man which is flesh and blood, but in the revelation that Jesus is Christ the living God. Peter’s revelation of Jesus Christ came from heaven, not man (flesh and blood).
Man can tell you about Jesus Christ but not until HE is revealed to you from heaven will the Church be built. It is on this rock of the revelation of your redeemed, transformed, born-again, sanctified, righteous life through Jesus Christ that the Church is established. It is your revelation through the Holy Spirit of your identity in Christ of who HE is and who you are. The Church is not built on religious tradition and doctrine about Jesus Christ. The Church built in the Holy Spirit revealing Jesus Christ to you personally.
Hades cannot prevail against you the Church. You have a new identity and race in Christ Jesus. All the powers of darkness cannot prevail and defeat you. You are the child of Almighty Holy Creator God who has known and sanctified you from the beginning of time. You were known by God before you were formed in your mother’s womb.
This Rock is the revealing of Jesus Christ from heaven in you by knowing who you are in Christ Jesus. The gates of Hell cannot defeat you in Christ Jesus. The revealing of THIS ROCK in you will stand eternally.
Walk today in the heavenly revealed power of Jesus Christ and your new identity and race in Christ Jesus.
