Kingdom Living is Living Renewed & Reconciled When I came to Christ, I was discipled by a person in our business. The scripture that he gave me that really impacted my life was Psalms 13:1. And as I got into it, I found there is so much power in all the other verses, too. So, let’s read this – and what we’re going to see here is “Renewed.” Renewed is a key word in here. There’s so many key words in here. But Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me, Bless His Holy Name. And here’s verse two that makes me go, “Wow, look at this.” “Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” So, there are benefits that come with our relationship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. He does what? He forgives all of our iniquities. Heals all. Look at this. All of our diseases, your diseases. Who redeems our lives – my life – from destruction and crowns us with loving kindness and tender mercies. Now this is where I want to go with this: Who satisfies my mouth your mouth with good things. And we speak life. You satisfy your mouth with good things. And so that so that your youth is renewed like the Eagles. And the Eagles are renewed all the time. They shed their feathers. They get new feathers. We have bought into decay more than we have youth. At first glance, it sounds poetic. But David is describing a metaphysical principle: regeneration. Regeneration, restoration, renewed biology that comes how? From Communion with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through God. Psalms 103 is not symbolic. It is a covenant description of what happens to a human being when the benefits of God replace the conditions of Adam. So your youth is renewed. Look at this – it is a reversal of decay. The Hebrew word for renewed is “hadash” meaning to repair, to restore, to rebuild, to make fresh, to renew in strength, renew life or vitality. This is not emotional renewal. This is biological physical renewal. In other words, renewed youth is the opposite of entropy. Renewed youth is the opposite of aging. We’re bought into aging. That’s what people say “How old are you?” and that’s an expectation when you’re going to be dying. Renewed youth is the opposite of decay. David is describing the abolishment of death’s process at the cellular level – something the New Testament calls immortality and incorruptible. Amen and Amen.
