Kingdom Living IS Friendship With God
Where Is Your Friendship?
Is your friendship with the enemy of God?
[Or] you do ask [God for them] and yet fail to receive, because you ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. Your intention is [when you get what you desire] to spend it in sensual pleasures.
You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God]! Do you not know that being the world’s friend is being God’s enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God. James 4:3-4 AMP
What does it take to go from being a servant of God to becoming a friend of God?
A servant does not know what the master is doing; a friend knows the master’s heart and mind. There is intimacy in friendship. There is openness and transparency. There is a non-judgmental spirit of forgiveness in friendship. So what does it take for you to be called a friend of God?
14 You are My friends if you keep on doing the things which I command you to do.
15 I do not call you servants (slaves) any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing (working out). But I have called you My friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from My Father. [I have revealed to you everything that I have learned from Him.]
16 You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed you [I have planted you], that you might go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit may be lasting [that it may remain, abide], so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name [as presenting all that I AM], He may give it to you.
17 This is what I command you: that you love one another. John 15:14-17
Jesus Christ the word of God, the creator and redeemer chose you to bear everlasting fruit when you love others. HE calls you HIS friend when you love others as HE has loved you.
Go bear the fruit of love and forgiveness today.
