What is the basis for prosperity and abundance?

Can giving cause an increase? Can withholding cause poverty?

Meditate on the following scripture and let it get into your heart. What is this scripture saying to you? Is this truth?

One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.

A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.  Proverbs 11:24-25

Put your name in this scripture:

Prosperity comes in refreshing others. How can YOU refresh others using your skills, abilities and gifts? Are you withholding refreshing others? You might be like the servant who hid his talents and was called wicked and lazy and thrown into utter darkness. Are you withholding refreshing someone?

What is the abundance in which you gain and prosper? It is in relationships, ministry, righteousness and finances. How are your relationships? How is your ministry? How is your walk in righteousness? How are your finances?

Your generosity as you refresh others will cause you to be refreshed. Generosity comes from the heart. What is your idol? Holy God wants to be your one and only idol. Are you holding onto something which has become your god? Is this your education? Is this your house or car? Is this your family? Is this your work? Is this your ministry? Is this anger or unforgiveness in your heart? God wants you to worship HIM with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength.

The offering which God receives is a broken and contrite heart – the offering of your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. Prosperity and abundance begin as you give generously. Go today and refresh others.
