Jesus Has Given His Glory to Us.

The most remarkable part of John 17 is that Jesus did not keep the glory to himself. How about that?

John 17:22. And the glory which you gave me, I have given them that they may be one just as we are one.

Jesus did not say the glory you gave me will someday be given to them.

He said, “I have given to them that is already accomplished in Christ.”

The glory given to the believers is not independent.

Human glory is the glory of union with Christ – the father’s life, nature, love, approval, purpose, and presence shared with us through the son.

We do not possess a glory – look at this – separate from God.

We participate in his glory because we are joined in Christ.

And 1 Corinthians 6:17, but he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him, joined to Christ.

Colossians 1:27, Christ in you, Christ in us, the hope of Glory.

The Hope of Glory is not merely Christ near you, Christ. It is Christ in you.

His life is now the source of your wealth.

His righteousness defines your standing.

His relationship with the father becomes the foundation of your relationship with the father.

His spirit dwells in you.

His nature is being formed and expressed through you.

You share in his glory, nature and words.

Because of Christ, we’re not only forgiven, we are glorified with Him.

His Glory is our glory. His Life is our life. His Unity is our unity.

Glory given, glory shared, glory lived.

Amen and Amen.
