No Weapon Formed Shall Prosper
Listen to this.
This is a key scripture that many of us have heard and read over years, but let’s get some understanding on this.
Isaiah 54:17. I’m going to do this in the King James, and then we’re going to go to another translation, too.
No weapon – no weapon that is formed against – and the word here is the shall – prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and the righteousness is for Me sayeth the Lord.
Now let’s look at another translation – and this is the New King James – and it changes from no weapon formed against you against you shall prosper and every tongue which rises up where against you in judgment you shall condemn. You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. And their righteousness is from Me says the Lord.
Their righteousness is a part of recognizing their identity. And they condemn those thoughts and those words that are coming against them, those weapons uh that that are and those imaginations.
So we are royal priesthood, a Holy nation. The Lord is my Redeemer and Defender.
And here’s what’s coming again – false accusations, fear, losses, discouragement, lies, betrayal, worry, temptations, and illness. These are the weapons that come against us, and none of them will prosper.
Weapons may be formed, but they shall not prosper.
Words may rise, but you shall condemn.
We condemn them in the name of Jesus with truth.
We bring the truth against them.
This is your heritage as a servant, as a son and daughter of God of the Lord.
Righteousness is not earned. It is revealed from God.
This is our heritage. Stand firm his promises.
He is faithful to protect you.
Protected, empowered, established in his righteousness.
Our confidence is in God, not in ourselves.
Amen and Amen.
