Kingdom Living in Authority

Kingdom Living in Authority

Here are several translations of Psalm 42:5.

  • Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?
  • Why are you in despair, my soul?
  • Why are you discouraged, my soul?
  • Why are you troubled, my soul, and why have you perplexed me?
  • Why art thou cast down, O my soul?
  • Why are you in despair, O my soul?
  • Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad?

What does cast down mean? What is a cast sheep?

A cast sheep has rolled over onto its back. It may not be able to get up without assistance. This happens most commonly with short, stocky sheep with full fleeces on flat terrain. Cast sheep can become distressed and die within a short period of time if they are not rolled back into a normal position. When back on their feet they may need support for a few minutes to ensure they are steady.

The Good Shepherd Jesus Christ is the one who gives the sheep (you) assistance. HE is the one who restores your soul. HE is the one who gets you back on your feet. HE is the one who helps you through the distress, depression, fear and anxiety. HE is the one who gives you the life-giving water to quench your thirst.

Job was restored after he lost his family, wealth, friends and health. Joseph was restored after family betrayal, unjust accusations, breach of promises and imprisonment. Peter was restored after denying Jesus three times. Paul was restored after persecuting Christians.

A sound mind is restored when fear is removed. Perfect love casts out fear. It is the Good Shepherd’s act of love to lift you up, give you a hug, turn you over so that you can stand, and receive all that the Good Shepherd has for you. You were not designed to live in distress, doubt, fear, worry, regret and condemnation. You are designed to wear the Royal Robe of Righteousness. The Good Shepherd has reconciled you, through the removal and total forgiveness of all sin, so that you can wear HIS Royal Robe of righteousness as a Child of God.

A sound mind (soul) is renewed and restored by the washing of the Word of God. Depression, defeat, anxiety and discouragement are spiritual forces the enemy uses to make you less effective. The enemy does not want you to know who you are and the authority you have in Christ Jesus.

As a believer you have authority over fear, worry, lack, downcast, distress, discouragement and condemnation. We read in Mark 16 verse 7 ” And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons.”

Say out loud:

  • “I am a born-again child of God with the Holy Spirit living in me.
  • I have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ.
  • I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

By the authority given to me, I command and declare in Jesus name. Foul spirit of fear, foul spirit of lack, foul spirit of inadequacy, foul spirit of distress, foul spirit of discouragement and condemnation, get out in Jesus name!”
